Book of Remembrance

Because someone loves and remembers a name, a beloved soul and a span of life on earth are perpetuated.

"יזכור אלקים את נשמת...בעבור שאתן צדקה...."

In the above passage from Yizkor, one pledges an offering to charity in memory of the deceased whom he memorializes. In order that such pronouncements may not be in vain, we are offering our congregants an opportunity to make a contribution in memory of those for whom they say Yizkor

This year the RJC will continue our tradition of printing a Book of Remembrance in time for the High Holidays 5780. This booklet will contain a listing of names of departed souls and the members who wish to remember them. The booklet will be available in Shul throughout the year each time Yizkor is recited and will honor those friends and family members who have been called to their eternal reward.

If you would like to participate, please complete the form below no later than Wednesday, September 18. Please take care to fill out the form properly. Your name and those of your loved ones will be listed exactly as they are written on the form. Please include a contribution of $18 or more for each person who is to be included in the book. We must prepare the book now for it to be ready in time for Yom Kippur.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the RJC office at 718-548-1850.

Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year!

Please type each name on a separate line. Please note, your name - and those of your loved ones - will be listed exactly as they are written.

This offering is a token of reverence and is designed to be within reach of all. We suggest a contribution of $18 or more for each name.
