RJC Kollel: Meet Our Fellows

Ahron Schwartzmessing                                                                                                                                                                                    Shalom! My name is Ahron Schwartzmessing. I'm from Hillcrest Queens, and am entering my fourth year of Semicha at RIETS. I enjoy learning Chumash, Tanach, Gemara, Machshava, and Mussar, and especially enjoy delving into the nuances of Dikduk and language in the Torah that I learn.

Eli Fink                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Hello, my name is Eli Fink, and I grew up in Teaneck, New Jersey. After studying for two years at Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh, I studied under Rabbi Zvi Soblofsky at YU/RIETS and am currently in Semicha. For the past 10 summers I have enjoyed learning at Morasha Kollel. While I love learning many different areas of Torah such as Chumash, Navi, Mishnah, Gemara, and Halacha, most of my time is spent learning Gemara and Halacha.

Akiva Levy                                                                                                                                                                                                        Akiva Levy was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and currently lives in Washington Heights with his lovely wife, Chana. He attended Yeshivat Orayta before graduating from Yeshiva University with a Bachelor's in Jewish Philosophy with a minor in Psychology. Akiva is currently in his second year of Semicha, while also pursuing a Master's in Jewish education from the Azrieli School of Jewish Education and furthering his learning of Jewish Philosophy at the Revel School of Jewish Studies. He enjoys learning everything within the Jewish corpus but has a particular interest in Halacha and Machshava.

David Tanner                                                                                                                                                                                               Shalom! My name is David Tanner and I am excited to join the RJC Kollel. I am a second year Semicha student at RIETS and hold an MSW from Wurzweiler. I enjoy learning Halacha, tracing its development from the Gemara through the millennia to the present day.
